Main Components – Indoor Unit (Fan Coil)

The GEA acqua heating and cooling air-conditioning system consists of 1 outside unit (the chiller) and up to 8 indoor room units, which are connected to the heating system and to the cold-water circulation system.

Here’s how the indoor room unit works:
The integrated fans ensure that the air continually passes over the heat exchangers. The control system regulates the valves to admit either hot or cold water to the heat exchangers, depending on the temperature of the rooms. The control system also automatically regulates the speed of the fans according to requirements. This enables us to achieve, efficient and comfortable heating and cooling that can be exactly controlled.

Components
The fan coil unit consists of an intake filter, extremely quiet fans with 3 speeds and with automatic controls to switch them on and off, heating and cooling heat exchangers in a 4-line system (for combined heating and cooling), as well as thermoelectric 3-way valves and the required control components.
Configuration
The indoor fan coil units can be configured in the following 3 possibilities:
- Only cooling
- Cooling and hot-water heating
- Cooling and electrical booster heating.
Piping connections
The fittings to connect the heating and cooling lines can be provided on the right or the left side of the enclosures, as required.
Installation
These indoor fan coil units can be installed with their enclosures either at the wall, or on the ceiling. If required, recessed installation in the wall or the ceiling is also possible.
